DCL MEETS MUNICH MASH

MUNICH’S FIRST LIVE DRONE RACE IN OLYMPIC PARK

Drone Champions League (DCL) brings drone racing to Munich. From 22-24 June 2018, the DRONE PRIX MUNICH will take place in Munich’s Olympic Park. The opening race of this year’s drone racing season takes place within the framework of Germany’s largest action sports festival – the Munich Mash.

DCL CEO Herbert Weirather: “We are very proud to be a partner of Munich Mash 2018. Olympic Park offers us completely new possibilities to present drone racing. As part of the Munich Mash, DCL will perfectly complement the existing action sports activities”.

Drone Champions League has been hosting international drone races since 2016. In addition to Munich, other races will be held in spectacular locations in 2018. Among other locations are the bullring Plaza de Toros Las Ventas in Madrid and Simatai at the foot of the Great Wall of China.
Drone racing continues to inspire more and more people. The mostly young pilots fly a given route individually and as a team. They use video goggles and only see the image that a camera transfers from the drone to the goggles, this type of flying is called First Person View (FPV). In the end, it is not only important to be the first to finish, but also to perform well as a team as extra points are awarded for a strong team performance. The DRONE PRIX MUNICH is, like all other sporting events at the MUNICH MASH, free to enter and enjoy!
