DRONE PRIX BEIJING
The third stop of the Drone Champions League season 2018 took us to China. The DRONE PRIX BEIJING took place in the historic Water-Town.
On August 10 and 11, 7 DCL teams and 2 Chinese wildcard teams flew for victory. At the foot of the Great Wall of China, in the Great Wall Theater, more than 30 pilots competed in exciting races.
With more than 35 degrees Celsius and clearly noticeable humidity, the Czech team Rotorama was able to secure first place with 250 points on the first day of the race. Quad Force One from the USA closely followed with 220 points and the Chinese wildcard team Hellhound caused a surprise, finishing third with 200 points. More than 800 spectators celebrated their local pilots and were happy about a place on the podium.
The second day of the race started with a lot of rain, but it did not stand in the way of the start. The teams of NEXXBlades, Rotorama and Quad Force One fought an exciting battle. In the end, NEXXBlades prevailed in first place. The team from the UK won the day with 250 points. Followed by Quad Force One (USA) with 220 points and Rotorama (CZE) with 200 points.
Herbert Weirather on the DRONE PRIX BEIJING: “The effort was worth it! We had a great time in China and two exciting races in W-Town. Thanks to our local partners we were able to stop in Asia for the very first time. We are already looking forward to the DRONE PRIX BEIJING 2019.”
